Laurel Driving School is committed to providing driving lessons that not only fit every skill level and background, but also infuse our supportive and innovative teaching approach.
ASSESSMENT LESSONS
These lessons are catered for people who have completed their EDT lessons elsewhere and have not yet taken a driving test or have been unsuccessful in a previous attempt and would like guidance on what areas need work and Laurel Driving School will then give them the best possible solutions to ensure not only the skill is developed but that they can drive with confidence.
EDT DRIVING LESSONS
Through this course, students will complete the mandatory 12 EDT lessons set out by the RSA. The course will begin with gaining an understanding and knowledge of Car Controls and Safety Checks before applying what they've learned in a relaxed environment with minimal traffic. Once comfortable with the basics students will then progress gradually to busier environments and more complex situations. Each student is assessed during their lessons and, when necessary, given advice or help while driving to improve on their newly developed skills. Notes will be tailored to the students needs to help them develop between classes with a sponsor or to bring that knowledge into their next class. Video aids as well as images are also used to help the student develop and progress which can be given outside of lesson hours. All EDT log books are supplied by Laurel Driving School and a breakdown of each lesson is given at the introduction stage.
PRE-TEST LESSONS
One of our most popular offerings towards people who have completed their edt sessions but feel they need to further develop their skills with an experienced instructor who will not only help identify the areas that need improvement but will commit 100% of the scheduled lesson time to ensuring you leave confident and happy with the improvements you've made. There is no issue too big or too small, simply reach out if you have any questions.
MANUAL AND AUTOMATIC VEHICLES
Laurel Driving School cater for both Automatic and Manual driving lessons and offer you the opportunity to try out both before fully committing to your choice. With automatic vehicles becoming more popular Laurel Driving School caters for people who have already completed their EDT lessons and/or Driving test who would like to try automatic before making a decision on buying and will be given the pros and the cons of owning a hybrid automatic vehicle.
REFRESHER DRIVING COURSE
Refresher courses are available for people with previous experience but have found either new car technology a bit difficult or if the environment you've been comfortable driving in has changed or if you have moved into a new location and are unfamiliar with the roads.
REDUCED EDT LESSONS
Reduced EDT courses are available for those who qualify for it with the RSA. In this course students will be required to complete 6 of the 12 EDT lessons and upon completion will qualify to apply for their driving tests without having to wait 6 months. As with regular EDT lessons these lessons can be done in either automatic or manual and can be done in the learners own car.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. General Conditions
Your instructor is bound by a professional code of conduct.
Your instructor will be courteous, polite, tidy and punctual and will also behave in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
Your instructor’s vehicle will be well maintained & clean and tidy.
All vehicles used by the instructors are fitted with dual-controls as part of their standard equipment.
The vehicle of course is fully insured for driving lessons.
Your instructor will not smoke in the vehicle nor will they use your lesson time for any other form of business, personal or otherwise.
2. Qualifications
Your instructor is qualified and fully licenced by the RSA to give driving tuition and QQI awarded for car driving instruction. D/N 42041.
3. Learner permit
The learner must hold a current, valid Learner permit which must be produced on or in advance of their first lesson and must be present for all driving lessons. Failure to bring your Learner permit will result in the lesson not being conducted
4. Booking and cancellation.
All lessons booked are to be paid for in full upon booking to secure the time slot.
Lessons may be cancelled/rescheduled provided they are done so no later than 5 days prior to scheduled lesson.
Lessons cancelled within 5 days of the scheduled lesson by the learner will result in a forfeit of fee.
Lessons ended by the learner, when a package deal is bought, will be refunded with the adjusted price of the taken lessons deducted at an equal rate of one single lesson each plus any further costs i.e. learner log book.
appropriate footwear and clothing must be worn when attending driving lessons that will not in any way affect your driving.
5. Vouchers
Vouchers bought are valid for 5 years from when they were purchased.
Vouchers become used once the first lesson is activated and lessons will be valid for 6 months from the start date(see section 6).
Vouchers can not be refunded or exchanged for money.
6. lesson
EDT lessons must be completed on or within 6 months of starting, when package deals are purchased. failure to complete the lessons within the time frame will result in a forfeit of the remaining lessons.
